 All Saints is a growing church in North Waterloo, where a committed group of people is learning how to follow Jesus Christ. We are currently seeking a Children’s and Youth Pastor. This is a part-time position, 8 hours per week for a 2-year contract beginning in October 2022.

Compensation package: $18 per hour.

Hours: Sunday mornings & 1 evening, plus other days as required. Schedule to be determined with the Rector upon hiring.

Description: The primary purpose is to sustain and build upon our current Children’s and Youth Ministry programs so that children and youth in our community are shaped and nurtured in the Good News of God that is found in Jesus Christ in a safe, friendly, inclusive, and welcoming environment. 

Duties & Responsibilities: Primary duty is to nurture and grow the existing Children’s and Youth Ministry on Sunday mornings and 1 evening per week.

Administration: 

-Choose and implement curriculum in consultation with the rector, Sunday school volunteers and youth volunteers.
-Organize and maintain Children’s Ministry supplies and curriculum.
-Develop and manage the budget in cooperation with the treasurer and bookkeeper.  -Track, review attendance and maintain contact with families.
-Ensure appropriate set up of rooms and care of Children’s and Youth Ministry space
-Recruit, train and mentor Sunday School and Youth volunteers.
-Ensure the visibility of our children through intergenerational activities (e.g. participating in liturgy through reading and singing, sharing crafts/teachings with the congregation, etc.) 
-Maintain an on-going relationship with parishioners
-Implement and maintain Safe Church initiative, Canon 40 (https://diohuron.org/resources/canons-and-constitution/pages/canons)

Communication with: 
-
Children and Youth volunteers – meet regularly to assess progress and address concerns 
-
Rector – keep informed of plans and concerns.
-
Children and their parents – regular communication 

Co-ordination: 
-Co-ordinate special events and family discipleship days (e.g. Christmas pageant).
-Plan and facilitate take-home resources
-Participate in confirmation preparation with clergy
-Work in collaboration with neighbouring Anglican parishes in delivering youth ministry throughout Waterloo   

Skills & Experience: 
-A committed follower of Jesus Christ, passionate about sharing the Gospel with children.
-Experience working in a team environment.
-Imaginative, energetic and flexible. 
-Demonstrated strong organizational and communication skills. 
-Sensitive pastoral abilities
-Post Secondary Studies 
-Theological education an asset 
-Music/drama abilities are assets  

 

The successful candidate will need to complete a police background check and provide proof of COVID Vaccination.
