Lenten Sermon Series
The Road to Baptism
Join us throughout Lent as we journey the Road to Baptism together. Lent is a time of reflection, often called a penitential season. During this time Christians around the world and of different denominations will reflect upon their lives and their relationship with God.
Often in pop culture, Lent is associated with the giving of something up, like chocolate. While this is true in the sense that during Lent it is common to fast and to give alms (offerings of money for extra purposes of the church) this is not the only or limited understanding of Lent.
This year, beginning with Ash Wednesday on March 1st, we will begin a journey of exploring our baptism, our baptismal vows and the meaning of baptism and what it means to be part of a community of believers, the church. Each week we will focus on preparing to renew our baptismal vows at the Great Easter Vigil when we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Join us each week as we prepare ourselves to welcome the risen Lord and immerse ourselves in new life.
